You can rely on our years of experience and knowledge to get the job done right.

Metal milling machining has the ability to produce highly precise and complex shapes, the versatility to work with various metals, and the ability to perform multiple operations in a single setup.

Ensuring your job is machined to precision.

All Milling and Lathe Machining

David’s purpose-built workshop houses two new principal machines, a Gosan 2060 heavy-duty metal lathe featuring digital readouts to three decimal places and a large industrial milling machine, a BM 70 VE turret head milling machine with a 1500mm long milling table. Both machines ensure a high level of accuracy and speed of work.

Complementing these machines are six smaller, more specialized machines: a tool and cutter grinder, a surface grinding machine, linishers and two band saws. This complete setup means David can handle all your metal machining requirements.

All threading and surface finishing operations may be performed as a matter of course, as well as line boring deep hole drilling.

With a prominent high-capacity face plate, it is possible to handle heavy workpieces as the lathe is designed to handle large-diameter solids up to 300kg. The lathe face capacity is about 450mm in diameter, making it suitable to machine any brake hubs or disc components. Pipe flanges can be faced as well as other hard-to-mount workpieces on the generously sized faceplate. Workpieces as long as 1500mm can be accommodated between centres; the hollow headstock spindle allows for work of 82mm Diameter or less.

The centre drilling capacity is up to 50mm for holes of 180mm depth. Deep hole drilling can be undertaken to depths of as much as 380mm at smaller diameters. With more complicated setups while faceplate turning, it is possible to perform just about any operation that can be done on a lathe.

Metal Lathe Machining.

Metal lathe machining is a process of shaping and cutting metal workpieces using a lathe machine that rotates a workpiece on its axis to perform various cutting operations. These operations can include turning, drilling, facing, threading, grooving, and more.

The process of metal lathe machining involves first selecting the appropriate cutting tool for the job based on the type of metal being worked with and the desired outcome. The workpiece is then clamped securely into the lathe, and the cutting tool is brought into contact with the metal, gradually removing material to achieve the desired shape or finish.

Metal milling machining is a process of cutting and shaping metal workpieces using a milling machine. A milling machine is a tool that rotates a cutting tool on multiple axes to perform various types of cutting operations. These operations can include drilling, slotting, contouring, and more.

The process of metal milling machining involves first securing the workpiece onto the milling machine’s worktable using clamps or a vise. The milling machine then moves the cutting tool over the workpiece in a precise pattern, removing material to create the desired shape or finish.
